Lately when I watch, listen to or read the news it feels like Murphy’s Law becoming part of our everyday life;

Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

At work

Applying Murphy’s Law to the working environment somebody formulated it as follow “If there’s more than one way to do a job, and one of those ways will result in disaster, then somebody will do it that way.”

Super cars, books and happy places

I am not fond of reading fiction, but I continually invest in yet another non-fiction book to the dismay of my wife, because we have long since run out of bookshelf space.
But I’ll rest my case with the following quotes;

One does not stop buying books just because there is no more shelf space

and I’d like to see myself as extraordinary because Robin Sharma said

Ordinary people have big TV’s, but extraordinary people have big libraries.

Money is Fuel

A penny for your thoughts

In his book Thinking for a change John Maxwell asks the question why some people are more successful than others?

Two Perspectives

He then tells a story of a man with two daughters, the one 21 years old and the other 25. The 21 year old daughter applied to a university to study Pharmacy. On hearing that she was accepted she was elated, but her 25 year old sister bemoaned the fact that her sister needs to go to school for four more years.

Maxwell then concludes that

Leaving a Legacy

While I was busy eating an apple this afternoon, I thought about the saying that it is not the number of seeds in an apple that is important, but

the number of apples in a seed.

The number of seeds in an apple is finite, but there are an infinite number of apples that can grow from one seed. In other words what is the potential hidden in that one seed? More favourable conditions will produce apples of better quality.
