Back to earth

Champions, RWC2019, Springboks, EarthAfter a great emotional high to which there was a big build up beforehand, like winning the world cup or getting married, you often find yourself in somewhat of a vacuum, an emptiness that is difficult to put in words. For South Africa after winning the Rugby World Cup in 2019, it is no different.

After the 2015 Rugby World Cup tournament South Africa took some time before a new coach was appointed. After two years the Springboks were going nowhere scoring record defeats and Rassie Erasmus was appointed as ... continue reading

World Cup glory

Webb Ellis Cup, Springboks, RWC 2019, ChampionsLast week I wrote that nobody can remain at the top forever, that we are all human and that nobody’s perfect. Concerted effort

Winning a world cup is a concerted effort of ... continue reading

No team can always win

I am always interested by what makes people support a certain business or sports team. One sure thing is that people love to support a winning team, but no team can always remain at the top.

Springbok Rugby

Over the last couple of years many people were disillusioned by the performance of the Springbok rugby team.

Yet after they recently beat the All Blacks in New Zealand the tickets for the Springboks’ next match against the Wallabies were sold out within days.

As I’ve said, no team can always win. ... continue reading
